Dandelion folklore says that if the pillowy down of the seed head is blown off in one attempt, a wish will be granted.  Or the amount of seed remaining on a stem will reveal the depth of commitment from one’s lover.  The dandelion is also referred to as a blowball, cankerwort, dumbledore, faceclock, and fortune-teller.
